Best spas in London – Top 8

Most affordable London spa: Spa Experience at York Hall

A day spa doesn’t necessarily mean dropping an entire week’s worth of wages in one go. I mean … it’s completely possible to do that, but the beauty of Spa Experience is that you don’t have to! Their whole concept is based on making day spas accessible and affordable for the whole community (allelujah!)

Spa Experience have a few different locations around London. The one in York Hall Bethnal Green is a popular one – it’s made up of a Turkish hammam, steam rooms and plunge pools alongside a full range of treatments. What I really love is that they offer either Women Only days, Mixed or Male Only, so you can choose which one you feel most comfortable with. You’ll also find Spa Experience spas in Kensington, Old Street/Islington, Swiss Cottage, Waltham Forest and Wimbledon.

Most luxurious London spa: ESPA Life at Corinthia

This lavish spa is found in Westminster and it’s hands down one of the best spas in London. Completely underground, it’s the perfect place to relax and leave the chaos of London behind. There’s a labyrinth of treatment rooms to discover, as well as steam rooms, pools, a thermal suite, jet pool, ice fountain and heated loungers. It’s all centred around an insanely beautiful glass-walled sauna amphitheatre! Alongside just enjoying the spa’s main area, there’s also a whole menu of treatments to choose from – massages, facials, body treatments – the works!

The Ned has quickly become one of the places to be seen since it opened in 2017. Not only is it a hotel and members club, it’s also home to nine (!) restaurants, rooftop and indoor pools, a gym, a spa and a hammam! The spa is open to the public (by appointment, of course) and has treatments for every kind of budget. Get a quick manicure at Cheeky, a relaxing facial at Cowshed or indulge in a treatment at the Moroccan hammam.

Best London spa hotel: St Pancras Renaissance Spa

This spa is found in the heart of London and in one of my favourite hotels in the city – a decision based purely on the fact that Spice Girls ‘Wannabe’ was filmed there. You’ll be welcomed into this Victorian-inspired spa with a fluffy robe and slippers, before getting shown around all the luxe facilities. Choose from massages, facials and hand/foot treatments, or indulge in one of their ‘Spa Journey’ concepts – full body pamper packages of up to 150 minutes.

If you prefer to just hide out for the day and not book a treatment, you can also enjoy the gym, sauna, steam room and relaxation pool for up to four hours, Monday – Thursday for £60.

This Pimlico-based spa is completely inspired by the Moroccan Hammam experience. You’ll be transported to a relaxing, beautiful and warm Moroccan space the moment you step inside. The treatments really range from the simplest – mani/pedi/spray tans, to the most indulgent full body treatments. Try the Luxury Hammam treatment which will give you a top-to-toe cleansing over 55 minutes for £82. Those on a budget can enjoy a salt-infused steam room session from £20.

Fun fact: The mineral-rich water used at this spa is drawn from ‘the only working Artesian well in the City of Westminster’.

Best London express spa: Cowshed Primrose Hill

Cowshed Primrose Hill is found in one of those ridiculously beautiful, quaint neighbourhoods in London. Although I must admit that I love all Cowshed spas, this one is particularly lovely thanks to its chic location on Regents Park Road. Here you’ll find four mani-pedi stations, complete with comfy leather armchairs and individual mini TVs. There are also seven treatment rooms downstairs for all things facial / massage / waxing, etc.

With plenty of options for those short on time, Cowshed definitely deserve the title as one of the best spas in London when it comes to express treatments. Choose from a Speedy Manicure, ExpressLED Facial, a 15 minute Scalp Massage or a Speedy Pedicure, with prices starting from £15.

This rustic-style spa’s biggest feature is its rooftop pool with a retractable ceiling for the warm, sunny days.

This spa wins the Best Day Spa title because of its selection of incredible half- and full-day packages.
