Whether this is your first Christmas in London, or your tenth, there’s something magical about spending this time of year in such a beautiful, festive city. London knows no bounds when it comes to Christmas celebrations and preparations, from bustling Christmas markets to extravagant shop windows, beautifully lit streets and mulled wine stations in every local pub.
My biggest wish for Christmas in London is fresh, white snow! Ahh, that would be the dream, wouldn’t it? London hasn’t had a white Christmas since 2010 so whilst it’s not entirely out of the question, I’m not exactly counting on that happening. So instead, I’ve created a new Londoner’s wish list which basically consists of a bunch of really cool, London-y things that every expat who is living in London needs.
I love anything Anthropologie! If I had my way, my whole house would be decked out in it. Unfortunately my bank account doesn’t agree, but to this book, it does! £16.99 from Anthropologie
One of the best things about winters in the northern hemisphere is finally being able to wear Christmas jumpers! £16 from ASOS (currently 50% off)
A staple in every expat’s British home. Union Jack cushion £14.99 from Homebase
Much nicer to carry around than the flimsy paper versions and perfect for all the times your phone dies and you don’t know how to get home! £7.50 from Amazon
Quintessential British boots for all seasons, in a classic shade of green. £85-£100 from House of Fraser
This umbrella actually makes you look forward to the rain. Bring it on, London weather! £17 from Amazon
This London city notebook includes street and zone maps, detachable pages and is perfect for an on-the-go journal. £14.95 from Selfridges
Say goodbye to Pret, Nero and Starbucks forever with this amazing guide to London’s best coffee. £7.99 from Amazon
This robust black tea is about as British as it gets… £6.99 from Selfridges
Christmas means it’s almost 2015, a whole new year to start planning all your exciting travels for! £32 from House of Fraser
A Christmas staple for every expat living in London £35 from Selfridges
How are you spending Christmas this year? Will anyone be spending it in London?
