YOUR HELP NEEDED – If you have a hairdresser that you love or recommend, tell us in the comments below!
Every time I check into the London New Girl Facebook group, I inevitably see a post from one of us (it’s definitely been me at least 3-4 times) asking for a good hairdresser recommendation in London.
Since there are so many different conversations happening in the group all day long, the recommendations get lost really quickly and inevitably, the question has to be asked again – usually within the week.
So, where am I going with this? Well, seeing as there are so many great hairdressers recommended through the London New Girl community, including a few London New Girls who are qualified hairdressers themselves(!), I thought we could use the comments below to share our favourites. This way, we’ll always have a place to refer back to when it’s time for a new ‘do’!
If I see any other hair recommendations through the group, I’ll be sure to add them into the comments too.
Looking forward to hearing about your faves ? !

Thank you for this article! This is really very informative for us. I agree with you totally. It gives some true and insightful information on finding great hairdresser london. Great blog to share!! You indeed have written it in a layman way.
Monica Cortes! She is an artist ❤️ she has her atudio in Brighton and maybe some days she can in London as well!
Amanda asked the LNG group “Is anyone on here a hairdresser that does Japanese hair straightening or can recommend one?”
She was recommended “Tomoyuki and Co!” in Covent Garden
Jessica recently asked LNG Facebook group: “Hi, just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for good hairdressers and colourists in London? I live in south east London but happy to travel for a good cut and colour ✂️”
KT suggested: “Colour my life in lavender hill/battersea! Really reasonably priced as well!”
Someone recently asked the LNG Facebook group “Hair cut recommendations that won’t cost a fortune please! I have dyed blonde hair but due to illness it has been falling out and I need to cut it to just above shoulder/shoulder length to give it some life back. Last hairdresser in London was not great. The falling out is causing me to be really self conscious so I need a decent hair cutter that can make me feel good about it again 🙁
Ideally looking for a cut only (with a fringe trim) and either nights or weekend booking.
Thanks ladies!”
Amelia suggested: “He might be away at the minute but Mark comes to your home and he’s great

Hannah recommended: “Hey lovely, Transition Salon right next to Warren St station is amazing, I’ve tried a few places in London and this is the only place where I have been consistently happy with my hair. Kfir and Toni (both guys) are so great! Literally hair magicians. If you look them it up on Treatwell they’re only about £44 for a wash, cut, blowdry and style, really recommend them and they do late evenings and weekends I think :)”
Eden recently asked the LNG Facebook group: “looking for a good hairdresser to do balayage on my hair. Is anyone a hairdress or know of a good hair dresser around putney. Need it done by sunday?”
Chloe replied: “I went to London Proper Salon in Battersea last night.
Amazing service and really gretmat cut. Not sure on colour but the lady next to me , her hair was amazing and they were lovely and kind.
Lukasz cut my hair.

and Amy recommended: “Faye at Paul Edmonds is great with colour. You can teller that I recommended her!”
Em asked for a hairdresser who’s good with short hair, preferably in East/Central London, on the London New Girl Facebook group.
Erika recommended: “I go to Jubilee Hair in Covent Garden (£45-£55 for a cut) who are good with short hair. They are all Japanese hair dressers.
And a guy from Sassoon salon (also Covent Garden) gave me his card the other day saying they need short hair models atm – his name was Keegan could give them a call, it should be free or super cheap!”
I would absolutely recommend Toni who has a place on Baron’s Court, Rd, just by West Kensington Station. She’s an Australian who’s been in London for over 10yrs, is fantastic and super reasonably priced. I’ve been going to her for about the last 4 years and always really happy with the result. You can find her on FB at Artoni – The Hair Artist.
I went to Twentuno Salon in Clapham. I haven’t had experience with too many other salons. However, I had a very nice cut and blow dry for 35 pounds (that was a special deal because I was a new customer, it would be between 40-45 if I were a returning customer). My wash included a very nice head massage. I also had complimentary tea/espresso/ coffee and chocolate from their mini cafe (sweets are good 🙂 Also, there was a really cute chocolate lab the owner has who is chill. It was a nice cut for a good value and a relaxing “no frills” atmosphere.
Hi guys im a Hairdresser in London, i am from Sydney Australia. My instagram is Hairbygabii. Check out my work and feel free to private message me. I work in one of the best salons in London in Holborn called Brooks and Brooks but i do also work privately, either way i have really great affordable prices 🙂
Hi Gabi
There are a few hairbygaabi on Instagram. Can you DM me a list of prices please. Thanks x
I’ve tried a few places in London through Treatwell and it’s been so hit and miss. The only place that’s been consistently AMAZING is Transition Salon right next to Warren St they do a cut, wash, blow dry and style for like $44 which is the cheapest I’ve been to that’s also good quality. Go see either Kfir or Toni both guy hairdressers, they are seriously hair magicians!
Hey there! I went to Gusto Hairdressing in Soho and unfortunately had a really bad experience. I am a blonde, and wanted my roots redone and my hair toned to a nice icey blonde which i have been dpoing for years now. My cut was incredibly choppy and uneven, and I left the salon with blue/purple hair (something I am used to when it has been overtoned). My roots are now yellow and it’s only been two weeks! I was really disappointed unfortunately, after hearing so many good reviews!
My new favourite hair dresser is in The Painted Lady! Great service, great hairdressers, and a great interior to the place. And also, it is not to expensive! Amazing place!
I’ve only tried one hairdresser in London but they were so good I couldn’t change. Radio Hair Salon in Broadway Market, London Fields. There’s nothing nicer than an early appointment (I’m a morning person) there on a Saturday then leaving with fab new hair and pottering around the market. They aren’t cheap, but it was so worth it. I’ve been on a Friday night and even had a free cheeky prosecco while I was pampered! I was so happy with Kirsten that I just let her do what ever she thought looked good with the colour and cut. Now I’m living back in Melbourne it’s one of the things I miss about London. When I come for a visit, I will definitely book in to see her!
My favorite Hair salon in London is Gusto Hairdressing! My experience in this Salon was simply unforgettable. The atmosphere is lovely and the hairdressers are professional and friendly. The receptionist welcomed me with the warmest smile ever and she offered me a drink. I really enjoyed the pictures she took of my hair in front of a Background with the Salon’s Logo. Good music, good prices.. great Vibe and naturally good result! You can feel they love what they do as soon as you get in! I Really recommend it!!
