When I was budgeting for my move to London, one of the hardest bits of information to find was a price list of approximately how much general day-to-day items would cost.
It’s hard to set a weekly or monthly spending budget unless you know what you’re up against, so here is a bit of a list that I have combined of general expenses around London…
If there is anything in particular item/service that you want to know about, just ask!
London Prices (approximate, as at November 2013)
Café
- Coffee £2 – £2.80
- Sandwich £3
- Brunch £10
- Salad £6
- Muffin £2.50
Pubs
- Wine £4 for small, £5 for large (the large is very large)
- Pint of beer £4.50 (inner city), £3.80 (most other places)
Supermarket (based on Tesco prices – equivalent of Woolworths)
- Milk £0.89 (2 pints)
- Loaf of Bread £1
- 350g Chicken breast (2-3) £5
- Large tub of Yoghurt £1.20
- Muesli £2.50
- Can of Coke 330ml £0.60
